Leaving Tumblr, Again
For the third time in about a year, I’m transporting my blog back to Wordpress. I love the Tumblr, and continue to host my other visually-oriented blogs here, but it’s just not so great for The Words. Trying to get my freelance stuff back off the ground, so I need the SEO and look of WP. Visit me, if you like, at http://blog.bscarter.com.
Until a couple months from now when I decide...

A Writing Project
Some time back I got kind of inspired by the idea of writing a book. Actually, about ten years ago I felt like it was something I would do by the time I was 30. Here I sit at 30, and no book.
I actually wrote what probably amounted to two manuscripts. One fiction and one not-so-fiction. In a fit of self brought on by reading Angela’s Ashes, I deleted them both. With some work they probably...

Backup Your Blog
Backup your blog, folks. Because one day you’ll need to switch your GoDaddy server, and dragging all your directories to your HD via FTP just won’t cut it. Hence, emptiness below, save for a few I tried to recreate manually. Also, I have a reward for whoever knows how to restore a blog from the old batch of files I have sitting on my HD. Weird that it would keep my tags, themes,...
